Dear ClipMate Users,

We're happy to offer Startup Guru from Lincoln Beach Software.  The author, Harold Holmes and I have been friends for years, and when I saw his latest creation, I knew that it would be a great fit for our users.

Here's the problem that it solves:  Windows has several ways to allow programs to start automatically.  There's the RUN section of the registry. Then there's the STARTUP folder.  Ok, then there's the "all users" RUN registry.  And well, yes there's the "all users" STARTUP folder as well, on some systems.  The Startup folder is tricky to edit, and the RUN section requires you to use the registry editor.  To compound the problem, lots of programs just assume that you want them running all the time - things like the Microsoft Office "fast find" and Real Player.

Startup Guru puts YOU back in charge of your system.  Easily enable/disable startup entries without worrying about where they are, and easily put things back if you decide to keep them.  There's a handy viewer window that shows you info about the various programs, such as the program and company names and descriptions, if present.

TIP: Not all programs HAVE descriptions.  Do a "google search" on things that don't seem recognizable - I found something called "htpatch.exe" that didn't identify itself, but looks harmless enough.  I've found good information on various processes at this site.

We're proud to offer Startup Guru to our users, and we think you'll really enjoy the faster startups and fewer conflicts.   We invite you to buy now, or try free for 30 days.

Save 10%  DOWNLOAD OUR VERSION or click our BUY NOW button, and use coupon code:  THORNBEACH to save 10% if you buy before August 23!

We hope that you enjoy Startup Guru as much as we do.

Sincerely,

Stop Resource Battles

By assigning all your startup items to Startup Guru your system will not be locked in an epic battle for resources between applications. Each application can be started in turn and at a predeterminded time. Set the spacing for automatic startup apps so that those do not get stuck fighting for resources as well!

Chris's "Guru" Tips:

Turn ON the "Info Panel", using View | Info Panel.

Use the "Close After All Launched" option. This lets it quit after it's done - you only need it at startup!

Just un-check any entry that you don't want to run, and it goes to the "disabled" tab.  You can always bring it back later.
