ClipBar Troubleshooting (Advanced)

First, try this:

http://www.thornsoft.com/HTML_help/7/uiclipbar.htm

If the toolbar menu (when you right-click on the taskbar, select Toolbars) doesn't show "ClipMate 7 ClipBar", try these steps:

1) Register the DLL manually. Go to a DOS window, and paste this command line:

regsvr32.exe "c:\program files\clipmate7\ClipMateDeskBand.dll"
See if it says that it registered ok.

2) Reboot the PC and see if it shows up

3) Using the registry editor, see if this value exists:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{F60C63CE-52AF-4915-AAC9-F100FCDE270F}\Implemented Categories\{00021492-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

And this one:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Explorer Bars\{F60C63CE-52AF-4915-AAC9-F100FCDE270F}

Note: If there are two } marks at the end, then RENAME the key, to have just one }.

Now, DELETE this key, if it exists:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Component Categories\{00021492-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

(Deleting this key will force a refresh of the cache that holds the various "bars" that the taskbar sees.)

See if there are any "tmp" files in \program files\clipmate7. There should not be. But if there are, this can indicate a backlog of pending updates to the ClipMateDeskBand.dll, if they are about the same size (900-1000KB)
