Welcome to our Year-End Newsletter, featuring news about the ClipMate 7.3 update, a special offer, and a ClipMate usage tip.
Most of the changes are "under the hood" upgrades to various libraries, but you're going to like the new printing features, such as the "paper saver", which optimizes print jobs to print multiple (small) clips on a single page. You can print up to 6 graphics on a single page too! See Tools | Options | Printing, for the new settings. ClipMate 7.3 is a free update for registered users of ClipMate 7, and it's available in English, Multi-Language, PortableApps and U3 versions.

ClipMate's new printing engine is "report driven", meaning that there is a
library of report layouts, and when ClipMate prints, it selects the print
layouts that are appropriate for the selected data. In the Tools | Options
| Printing dialog, you'll find the new options, and the list of available
reports. The "Report Selection" box has 3 selectors, as there are
generally 3 types of items: Text, Bitmaps, and LARGE Bitmaps. There is a
settings to determine what is considered "Large", which will cause any given
image to be diverted to the report for small, or large bitmaps. This
distinction is important because the "paper saver" reports will print up to 6
images on a page, while the "single item" reports will always print one image on
a page. We recommend a setting between 600 and 1024, as criteria for
deciding "large" vs "small". Using the drop-down lists, you can choose the
report used for each category. For example, you can choose the single-clip vs.
multi-clip option for text, and choose the report that meets your preference for
portrait vs. landscape orientation.
Another change that you'll note is that the clips will print in "batches",
grouped by type. So you may notice that if you print a mixed selection of text
and graphics, the text clips will come out first, then the smaller graphics,
followed by the large, full-page graphic clips.
