have been using this program for years and all of a sudden I started getting this error message. I have not installed any new programs in months. I tried uninstalling Clipmate and then installing and I still get the same error message. Here is my log file.

What version of Internet Explorer do you have, and is there a psapi.dll file in the ClipMate program directory?

Internet Explorer is installed but I do not use it. I use FireFox.

There are no psapi.dll files in my Clipmate directory.

It doesn't matter if you use or not. Which version of IE is on the system?
And please search the whole drive for other instances of psapi.dll. Maybe another old one is out there, and it's being picked up.

I have version 7.0.5296.0 and Clipmate has worked with it for at least 6 months without any problems.

I have many instances of psapi.dll on my system. The latest installation date of any of those files is 2004, and I have been using Clipmate for all of these years.[/img]

Uninstall ClipMate.
Delete the remaining \program files\clipmate6 directory
Reboot the PC
Re-install ClipMate.
See if you're ok.

It looks like it may be (and I stress MAY here, as this error is way out in left field) a missing or damaged OLE32 DLL. You're the first to get this, so I don't have much help.
It would be interesting to see if ClipMate 7 runs.

I would try backing up all of my important data that has changed since the problem started, and doing a system restore. Something changed on the system. ClipMate was working, then it wasn't. Going back may be the easiest fix.

There are 11 instances of OLE32.dll on my computer. I would be afraid to replace all of them as there are at least three of them that are different sizes and that means they probably aren't the exact matches for the newest one I downloaded.

I would like to do a restore, unfortunately there are no saved restore points prior to my Clipmate problem.

I would be willing to try the Version 7 if you want to give it up.

You're welcome to try v7, but it's not going to be free. Something on your system has changed, making a hostile environment. Whatever did it, didn't bother making a restore point.

Thanks, but no thanks. I'll just purchase another program that has better support.

One last thing to try:
Uninstall/re-install and pick a different directory for the database. This will tell us if there's something about the data that's triggering the problem. If so (i.e. it works ok with a new, empty database) then maybe we can delete the top clip and get it working again.

I got it fixed last night, by installing Internet Explorer 7 again. All seems well now. Thanks for your help.
