7.3.05 shipped with an incomplete "sample clips" XML file, which is imported at first start-up, and creates the InBox, Safe, Overflow, and "Sample" collections. The one that shipped with 7.3.05 was missing the (very important) InBox, Safe, and Overflow.

If you are missing these collections, please download this file by right-click, save as.... and save onto your system. The "documents" directory is fine. Then in ClipMate, use File | Import Clips From XML, to import the file. You will need to navigate to whatever directory you downloaded it to. Then import the ClipMate_sampleclips.xml, and it should build your InBox, Safe, etc.. Make sure you import the new one, not the old one in your "program files" directory.

Here's the link - again, right-click and SAVE AS. Don't open it directly in the browser, as that won't do any good.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and we'll get this patched up as quickly as possible.

This is now fixed in 7.3.06, which will "heal" databases created with 7.3.05. Just install 7.3.06 (no need to unisntall anything) and it'll take care of it.

In case you don't want InBox, etc.......

Satisfy ClipMate's (new) urge to re-create the InBox by leaving the InBox in the database, but move it somewhere that you won't see it, such as beneath some other collection. You can delete the Safe, if you want.

Now when it re-starts,it'll see that you do HAVE an InBox, and won't try to re-create it.

I have the opposite problem! Every time I start the program I get 3 new collections created: "Inbox", "Overflow" and "Safe". I've already got the collections but it insists on giving me additional ones with duplicate names. I've not had this problem with any previous version. what am I doing wrong and how do I cure it? (or is it a bug?) Thanks,

Bob

Is your original InBox named something else, such as " InBox" (witih a leading space) or "In Box"? I should probably modify the check to accomodate alternate spellings, particularly with the leading spaces (which is a good trick to have the InBox listed first, when you're sorting alphabetically..)

Chris,

Thanks for your response.

You're right! Both "Inbox" and "Overflow" did have a space at the beginning. Why I don't know! I had renamed Safe to another name - do I have to call it "Safe" to stop another collection with this name being created?

Regards,

Bob

It's enough to trick "Inbox", then it won't bother checking the others.
However, I'd rather have you try this latest fix, and see if it avoids the trouble:

http://www.thornsoft.com/dist/ClipMate_7307_195.exe

Just install over 7.3.06.

Chris,

I haven't tested the new version in every respect, but it certainly seems to overcome the problem with Inbox having a space prefix. No additional collections were created. Thanks,

Bob
