I can't find this here on the board or in the FAQ. I'm running Windows 7 Pro and ClipMate 7.3.14 Build 233 which works just fine as always!

However, it's embarrassing to admit that I also like a very old and non-supported program called Smiley Pad which uses the clipboard to allow me to paste from my private collection of smileys into text, email or forum posts (where allowed).

Smiley Pad installed in Windows 7 just fine and seems to run OK except that when I attempt to drag-n-drop a smiley, I hear the usual Smiley Pad "chirp" sound but no smiley is pasted.

Someone told me that MS has done something with the clipboard to possibly "protect me from myself" and I'm wondering if that's true in the Smiley Pad case. I'm sure it's not ClipMate's problem but was wondering if you know anything about the topic. Thanks...

No changes to the clipboard from Vista to Windows7, as far as I know.

Thanks Chris. Well, I think the "problem" happened IN Vista. A friend far-away told me that he too uses Smiley Pad and this alleged clipboard change was back in a Windows security update for Vista. Be that the case, I figured that it must've carried forward to Win 7 but have no knowledge to back that up. And I don't know how to go back thru the Vista updates to see if there was such a change. Just thought you might know.

As I said, this is a peripheral question because ClipMate is working as it always has. Thanks again.
