Clipmate is a great tool that I cannot live without. But one thing irritates me: ClipMate does not have full support for Unicode. That is, if I have Защо on the clipboard, and add another clip, and then try to retrieve my previous string, all I have is ????. (My code page is CP1252, Latin-1.)

Any plans to address this in the next version?

I'm working on it now.

Working a lot with Russian these days and I'm so used to having Clipmate working all the time it's become a liability full of ??????????? ????? ????? clips. I'd hate to even start looking for an alternative, but is there a timeline on Unicode support?

Thanks much for the great product.

I have now nearly no more hope, that there will be any new ClipMate version.
ClipMate is dead, we have to live with the last version and all its bugs.

Rest in peace CM, you have been a nice fellow.

;)

This is really too bad. I predict that as pen/tablet computing grows, clipboard utilities are going to be an important type of program, because they provide macro type functions that can otherwise only be done with a keyboard.

With some respect for Mr. Thorn-whoever, discussion of alternatives shouldn't take place on his board.

If anyone out there shares these view and can point to place(s) on the web to find new stuff, appreciate hearing from you. -Roy

But they mostly don't use Windows (7) OS, so it is maybe the wrong horse to bet on.

Yes, you are completely correct. I opted for Windows 7 a couple years ago before the iPad came out. And even today I'd go for a W7 slate tablet because handwriting recognition is way way better on Win 7. One cannot create on the non-Win 7 tablets, only consume ... -Roy

Chris, in March of 2010 you said the above in response to requests for unicode support. More than a year has now passed. How close are you to implementing that support into ClipMate?

+1
Almost 2 years and a half already. Any news on this Chris?
