It's something interfering with the database access. Reboot, try it again. Disable antivirus scanning in the database directory.

Have you recently updated to Windows7 SP1? Another user did, and had the same trouble, and I just received this error myself. Just a few minutes ago.
If so…
We need to delay ClipMate’s start-up by a few seconds, so that the system is more responsive when ClipMate opens its database tables.
In ClipMate, go to tools | options | advanced.
Set a 5 second “startup delay”.
That should take care of it. If not, add another 5 seconds and try again.

Hi,

No. It was an update of Vista 64 that crashed Windows. However, delaying startup works!

Thanks

UnHandled Error: DBISAM Engine Error #11013 Access denied to table or backup file 'query (34926)'

Same problem here. Worked fine until PC crashed. I've turned AV off, made sure data file permissions were read/write, rebooted, changed directory locations, deleted database files, done database repair, registry reset, and DB restore all via Shift start, removed and reinstalled fresh, waited for other apps to load, prayed to Jesus, prayed to Allah, prayed to anyone listening ... none work.

Chris, you write to delay startup. But I can't get into Options. I start CM and Select Directory is displayed. I select a Directory. CM starts verification, and then displays the error. I don't see a way around that loop.

I love Clipmate, have lots of clips, gotta have it back ... please!

Marc

I think I finally found the bad boy - AVG2012 AV software. I added an exclusion and CM works. Woohoo!

I know that's one of the first things I should have checked according to Chris. But I've had the AVG software for years and the last update for weeks without problem, and so didn't think it would be the culprit. In any case, a happy ending. :D

That will teach me to drink the Kool Aid. Adding anti-virus exclusions did clear this up last time. But I rebooted the system. This time the DBISAM error has reappeared and the exclusions don't work.

Try loading it manually. Does that work?

Hi Chris, welcome back and thank you! Please explain what you mean by load manually.

At this point I've tried everything suggested - 10 sec delay, AV exclusions, DB repair, remove/reload software. There is nothing that reliably works. CM always has the error on startup. I'll periodically start CM. Generally I get the error. But sometimes and eventually I don't. I haven't found any way to reliably ensure normal startup.

When you take ClipMate out of the windows startup, wait until windows has loaded and is ready to use, THEN run ClipMate, does it work?

Hi Chris, as I wrote, when I manually start CM, I typically receive the error. Occasionally, perhaps 5% of the time, it does work. But it seems random. I have not been able to do or see anything that causes it to always work or increase the success rate. *sigh* Thanks.
