It shouldn't be doing that.
Can you check something?
Run the registry editor (start | run | regedit), and go to this branch:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Thornsoft\AutoUpdate\ClipMate
Check the value for "CurrentVersion". It should be 6.5.10.544
See if it's set to something else.
