I'm a long time user and just updated to V7, what I dont understand is why 3/4 of my data vanished and how the data that is still there ended up in a collection called "everything" I never created that collection. All my other collections are empty.

I'm in my 60s and not very good with computers any help would be appreciated.

"Everything" is a "virtual collection", and is basically just a canned query for "show me all clips that aren't in the trash can".
You've also got "today", "this week", etc.. They're all in the virtual collection folder, and are documented here:

http://www.thornsoft.com/HTML_help/7/ue ... ctions.htm

When you're looking at any virtual collection, it will show a column that shows which collection any given clip actually resides in. That may shed light on where they all went. See if that is helpful at all.

I'm sorry I don't understand what you're talking about. My data was loaded in my collections the other day and now it's in a collection called everything. I move my data from everything back to the collections it belongs in and it goes right back to the everything collection. What is going on, I just want my data back in the collections it belongs in and it would be nice if I could get my missing data back. I have been through a lot of upgrades with you I think I started with 2 or 3 and I've never had problems like this. Why do I need a everything collection?

The data isn't really in the everything collection. "everything" is just a canned query.
Please look in the everything collection, and look at the second column (labeled "Collection"). That should give the name where the clips actually reside. Please let me know what shows up in the second column of the ClipList when you're looking at the "everything" collection.
