I tested ClipMate, and sounds great. In reading the help file I saw that one can append the URL of the source clip.

I saw that one can also set the #CREATOR# as a macro to append it. However, I was unable to find an option to append the Window Title of the Source file (let say for instance from a PDF or CHM file called "ClipMate 7 Help" from where it has been copied some text).

I would find that very useful, to not say essential to reference my clips that do not come from the web. Is it possible to add this option in the Paste (or QuickPaste)?
Many thanks.

Which browser do you use?

There is a very good add-on for Firefox. Look for "CoLT".

I also looked at the Clipmate feature recently. But I could not figure out how to make it work.

I am also looking for a way to manipulate outgoing clips, but that too eluded me.

Thanks for the suggestion.
But the problem is not when one copies from the browser (whatever it is), since in that case CM7 captures the web address (the source). And there is a way to append it too with the contents when the clip is pasted.

The problem that I did not solved is to capture the source when one copies from other applications, for instance from a PDF file. I would like that CM7 captures (in the properties) also the window title of that PDF file (which usually corrispond to the file name), so I know the source of the clip that has been taken. Moreover I would like to pass that window title to the application (a database, in my case) where the clip will be pasted.

I did not – and still do not – really understand your explanation. But you may be seeking a new feature. In which case, you are probably out of luck. If you sniff around this place you will see that there is some feeling that ClipMate has now joined the ranks of "abandonware".

There hasn't been any development in quite some years, and very little sign here of the developer.

Sorry for not to be clear enough.
Instead, I clearly sniffed the "abandonware" atmosphere! So, I am very grateful to those that still give feedback!

Let's imagine this case.
1. I have a PDF file called "The old man and the sea.pdf" I want to copy from it a snippet of text.
2. I open the file with Adobe Reader. The Window title is: << The old man and the sea.pdf - Adobe Reader >>. Now I copy few lines in the clipboard. CM7 captures them.
3. After sometime I want to paste that lines to a document of mine (let say in MSWord, or whatever). And the question is: where do they came from? since it is passed sometime and one does not remember the source file from where they were taken.
4. If CM7 would be able to capture also the Window title of step 2, and append to the pasted clip, then the problem would have a solution. I am looking at this solution.
5. BTW, CM7 can do this if the snippet text put in the clipboard comes from a webpage. In that case it is able to append to the pasted clip also the URL from where it was taken.

I hope to not have been so confused.
