Now here is one that might make a lot of commercial sense, perhaps enough to lure Chris back into the fray, something for Android devices that does what ClipMate does on a PC.

I store all sorts of stuff in ClipMate that I would love to get at in my Android devices. My Acer phone, for example, and the Asus Nexus that should arrive tomorrow.

Android is a rapidly growing market. Apps that catch on can make piles of cash.

Then again, it may require completely different programming skills.

Does that matter?

Many programs written in various languages have turned up in various guises on Android.

The programming language is irrelevant.

What matters is the set of features.

Is there a clipboard tool for Android?

I haven't looked. But I get fed up with switching between things to copy simple bits from one place to another.

If not, then anything that Chris could cook up, based on his experience assembling Clipmate, might stand a chance of being one of those "must have" apps.

I currently move clips between my PC and my android with the password software that I use on both, Roboform.

This manages to hold the data in a format that resides happily on both platforms.
