Hi Rose
Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble. Not even sure how this is possible. I have trialed several hundred Clipboard managers and until very recently there has never even been a single challenger to the Throne of both most robust, flexible and easy to use Clipboard manager. I assume that your settings for you inbox and properties for Garbage Avoidance and Purging Rules may have been altered and that you are simply losing contents of your inbox or overflow or trashcan. Also, are you aware that the Clipmate 7 inbox holds only 200 clips, the Overflow holds 800 and the Trashcan holds 3 to 7 days (but might be adjustable]. Most other clipboard managers hold 5 to 25 clips . CM 7 assumes that most users don't want to collec too much clip litter. But i have emough ram that i like to save my clips to a more permanent Inbox folder i named TBS aka To Be Sorted and move up to the Top of the Tree so i can easily access
Next i Right Click | Properties | Garbage Avoidance | Accept New Clips and also
Right Click | Properties | Properties |Purging Rules | Never
As long as the TBS folder aka Collection remains selected. All copying to clipboard will automatically
There are many ways to save your data inside clipmate 7 aka CM7. First of all you can export your entire collection both as individual files, or as one xml file which can be imported even by other users you share with.
Do you currently have a COLLECTION aka Folder in the Collection Tree named Yahoo Answers in which you either directly collect your yahoo answers or Drag & Drop from the inbox after selecting fromt eh clip list. I have used Clipmate for nearly 10 years and have only lost my work once from a unrecoverable hard drive crash. i now use clipmate 7 up to 1000 times per day or more saving entire webpages with simple CTRL+A, CTRL+C...and i never lose my data as long as i remember to occasionally go in and sort and move my captured clips to a final destination. You can always create your own To Be Sorted = TBS folder collection...then Right Click | Properties | Garbage Avoidance | Accept New Clips and also Properties |Purging Rules | Never
Seems that Clipmate auto backups my current CM7 datablase as a zip file every 7 days. Current collection on my current desktop goes back for a few years: On my desktop these files are stored in: C:\Users\soultouch\Documents\ClipMate7\ on your computer soultouch would be replaced with your
Here is an example of one of several hundred folders: C:\Users\soultouch\Documents\ClipMate7\ClipMate7_DB_My Clips_2012-08-16_0345\
